Florida beat LSU 6 to 1 in a wild game to win the college world series in 2 games. It was the first CWS win for Florida. Behind the pitching of Freshman Tyler Dyson, Florida led LSU 2 to 1 into the eighth inning. Closer Michael Burne came in the game in the 7th inning and lost all control. LSU was set to tie the game 2 to 2, however a base running interference call after a double play resulted in the tying run being called back to third. Burne was replaced by Jackson Kowar who managed to close out the inning. Florida broke lose for 4 runs in the bottom of the eight to seal the win.
