5th annual Vintage Volkswagen fest at in Satellite brings large crowd

Got a chance to visit the Volkswagen fest in satellite beach today.   There were all kinds of VWs there both old and new most of which were in cherry condition.   For example check out the cherry red 65 Volkswagen in the featured picture that had a new more powerful engine put in in 1971.  The 0 to 60 eventually sticker is pretty funny but the car is flawless.    According to the owners there are three VW clubs locally and there is a big event of maybe 500 to 700 cars on November 11th in Dade City, FL.  It is called the Florida Bug Jam.

I liked the green 62 Volkswagen a lot.  I hope to be in as good of shape as the car is when I’m that old.

I also liked the 84 brownish camper type VW that had a propane stove, refrigerator, pop up and sleeping arrangements.  It had an awning where two VW owners were sitting in the shade.   Very smart men.  They mentioned that they attend about 10 shows a year, mostly the local ones.  Unfortunately, I did not get a pic of the vehicle.  Maybe next year.

There were about 50 to 100 VWs there today as well as the food trucks and many many vendors.  They were even having a raffle.

Its so close to Halloween, that you would think there would be some Halloween references to be there and the Fest did not disappoint.  See scary pic below.

All an all a fun time,  For more VW show pics see this link.

    Thats all for now,
