The 2017 Surfing Santa event took place this morning at The Coconuts on the Beach entrance in Cocoa Beach. By 9:00 AM the crowd was already in the 1,000’s and more were pouring in every minute. It was estimated 10,000 people attended the event
Although the actual surfing event does not start till 10:00 AM, it is best to get their early, like 7:00 AM, if you want to find a place to park. The Surfing Santa organizers were hoping to break last years record and get 800+ surfing Santa’s this year.

Right outside of Main Street parking was $20. Who says people don’t capitalize on Christmas $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
Live music was playing, vendors and local businesses doing an extremely brisk business. Quite a festive atmosphere as you can see in the photos.
Even though the waves were flat, everyone was having a good Christmas Eve morning; the way it should be in Florida!
