Eau Gallie Yacht Club employees rushed to a car that was sinking in a canal, used a tire iron to break the sunroof, and pulled a 61-year-old Satellite Beach woman to safety during Sunday’s record-breaking rainfall.

The woman became disoriented because it was rainy and hard to see at about 8:05 p.m., and she drove her white 2017 four-door Toyota down a boat ramp into the water, according to an Indian Harbour Beach police narrative.

“She got disoriented on the property there and thought she was taking a road exiting the yacht club. She ended up going down a boat ramp into the canal,” Indian Harbour Beach Police Cmdr. Ralph Garcia said.
